Role
Working with the Cub section, helping the Young People aged 8 to 10 1/2 years, have fun, learn skills for life and work towards earning their Chief Scout Silver Award.
Responsibilities- Delivery of a safe, exciting, and stimulating Balanced Programme for the Section considering the needs, interests and abilities of the young people.
- Ensure the safe delivery of the programme in accordance with the Policy, Organisation and Rules of The Scout Association.
- Ensure that every young person in the Section has the opportunity to attend at least one nights away experience each year.
- Actively support and promote the achievement of badges and awards in particular the Chief Scouts’ Award.
- Actively work with other adults in the Group to support and promote Group or multi-section activities and events.
Sessions run during term time, and you will have the opportunity to join the camps and activities organised (ahead of time) in the school holidays. Flexible volunteering is all that they are about so no time is too little and don’t think you need any skills, nor do you need to commit to a weekly schedule, there is always a role for you in the Group.
All we ask for is a desire to learn and enthusiasm to work with young people. If you can only help out once a month, they can make it work.
Cubs meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 to 8pm at De Morley Garth, Sheringham.
