As a Regional Clinical Development Nurse at Barchester, you will lead, support and continuously improve the clinical governance and quality of care for residents in ten of our care homes throughout Norfolk and Suffolk.

You will support the performance of each home, ensuring it meets the highest clinical standards. By reviewing the clinical governance database and KPIs each month, you will analyse the results, identify practical strategies, and ensure all regulations are met while continually improving the care we deliver.

Working closely with the Regional Director, improvement specialists, and senior clinical staff in each home, you will support the continual improvement of standards and help implement key actions to address any issues. Whether organising new training, assisting in attracting key senior clinical staff, or delivering clinical investigations, your leadership skills and passion for delivering the best will make a real difference to the residents.

Due to the regional nature of this role, a willingness for regular travel is essential.

You must be a Registered Nurse (RN General) with a current NMC registration, provide evidence of continued professional development, and have a strong understanding of current regulatory requirements. Experience working in a care home environment and confidence as a clinical mentor—including with newly‑qualified nurses—is required. Leadership skills, a sharp analytical mind, and the ability to share knowledge, build relationships and deliver on action plans are essential.
