About The Role
We are looking for an Assistant Countryside Ranger to join our small team who ensure the implementation of practical work at the Council’s woodlands and informal open spaces across North Norfolk, maintaining them as high‑quality, welcoming and accessible public spaces. The team are responsible for the day‑to‑day management of these sites for community recreation, nature conservation and forestry.

- helping to deliver school, group and family events
The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, self‑motivated, resourceful, adaptable to change, and able to work in a fast‑paced and often reactive environment.
You will hold a minimum level 2 NPTC chainsaw qualification and have a good standard of general education. You will have previous experience of working in a customer‑focussed environment as well as knowledge of conservation, biodiversity and woodland management.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as being proficient in the use of IT. Problem solving, promotion & marketing skills, and the ability to carry out physical work are all requirements of the successful applicant.
Previous experience working with children and volunteers is desirable but not essential.
A flexible approach to working hours and access to transport is essential.
