Shift Schedule8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. May be required to report to work during inclement weather.
Starting Rate$27.1090 PER HOUR / $56,386.6447 ANNUAL

Job SummaryThe Accounting Specialist I provides comprehensive operational support to the finance department by managing accounts payable/receivable tasks and maintaining essential contract databases.
Essential Job Functions- Assist with monthly reconciliations of bank statements and subsidiary ledgers.
- Support internal and external audit requests by providing documentation.
- Create internal monthly department reports.
- Process deposits and receipts from customer payments.
- Maintain vendor and customer contract database.
- Process finance department purchase orders.
- Receive and process finance department mail.
- Provide backup to Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable accountants, including issuing customer invoices and processing vendor invoices.
- Prepare annual 1099 forms and assist in the preparation of required department reports.
- Performs all other duties as assigned and directed.
- Administer and adhere to all Authority policies and guidelines.
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of accounting procedures is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required.
- Excellent organizational, analytical and time‑management skills.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to learn and use accounting software systems (e.g., MS Business Central or similar).
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years’ accounting experience.
- Experience in governmental or fund accounting preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain eligibility to hold a Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) badge as may be required by assigned job duties and responsibilities.
