Job SummaryThe Commercial Diver / Tender supports construction activities as directed by the Project Manager and Dive Supervisor, performing underwater and topside tasks to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role also requires strong marine carpentry skills for building, repairing, and maintaining marine structures in addition to standard diving and tendering duties. Candidates must be versatile, safety-focused, and able to adapt to dynamic project needs both underwater and on deck.

Education:
- Diploma from ADCE Compliant Commercial Dive School
- Current ADCI Certification for the type of diving being performed
- Current ADCI Compliant Dive Physical
- Current First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Administration Certifications
- OSHA 10 Hour - Construction
- Valid Driver’s License with current driving record free from serious or frequent violation
Experience:
- 1+ years’ experience working in commercial diving operations
- 3+ years’ experience as a marine construction worker familiar with form work, pouring concrete and pile driving operations
- Experience with the construction of bridges, walkways, piers, boat ramps, seawalls, docks, wharfs, and jetties
- Heavy equipment operation (if qualified)
Skills:
- Ability to read and follow dive tables (air and nitrox), altitude tables, treatment tables, etc.
- Ability to check and maintain diving equipment such as helmets, masks, air tanks, harness, and gauges.
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Ability to hear adequately to receive and understand instructions and safety warnings
- Ability to clearly communicate with surface workers while underwater and divers on dive stations
- Ability to cut and weld steel, using underwater welding / burning equipment, jigs, and supports
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and appropriate tools to construct objects, structures, dams, etc.
- Ability to work at heights up to 50’ or more
- Ability to work in confined or enclosed spaces
- Climb ladders or steps to reach objects
- Wear PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, safety-toed boots, etc.)
- Lift arms above shoulder level to move items
- Ability to walk moderate distances to reach work area
- Operate equipment from operator seat with access to pedals, switches, levers, buttons
- Learn job-related material primarily through on-the-job training
- Maintain adequate field of vision of instruments and surroundings
