News Now in Norfolk, VA is seeking a dynamic, charismatic, experienced Sports Anchor/Reporter who tells impactful, human‑centered sports stories rooted in the culture and history of Hampton Roads. The ideal candidate is a multi‑platform performer, strong writer, confident live presence, journalist who sees sports coverage as community, identity, culture, and impact.

  News Now+, mobile, digital, and social media.
• Lead sports coverage, including daily updates, game‑day coverage, analysis, and enterprise reporting.
• Pitch, write, and produce creative, character‑driven sports stories reflecting Hampton Roads’ unique culture and sports history.
• Deliver authentic, energetic, and informative live shots from stadiums, training facilities, community events, and breaking sports news scenes.
• Engage audiences across social platforms with mobile‑first content, including shorts, quick updates, behind‑the‑scenes insights, and real‑time fan interaction.
• Collaborate with producers, reporters, and digital teams to plan coverage, specials, and long‑form storytelling.
• Shoot and edit video in the field when needed.
• Represent 13

• Perform additional special projects and duties including news coverage when required.

• 1–3 years of on‑air sports reporting or anchoring experience in a smaller television market.
• Proven experience covering a major NFL franchise and college, and high school sports teams.
• Strong writing, reporting, and live performance skills.
• Demonstrated success engaging audiences on social, streaming, and digital platforms.
• Ability to shoot and edit video; proficiency with newsroom and digital content systems.
• BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, Broadcast, or related field preferred.
