Division Chief, Sleep Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School
The Division Chief for the Division of Sleep Medicine delivers medical care to patients in an ambulatory and hospital setting. May be involved in clinical rating of medical students and residents.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative leadership and oversight for the direction and growth of the Division of Sleep Medicine.
- Collaborate with peers, faculty and support staff.
- Participate in academic, clinical and research activities as needed.
- Participate in administrative, department policy and procedure development.
- Participate in clinical‑based research projects as needed.
- Participate in committees as assigned.
- Supervise staff under faculty supervision.
- Provide medical care to patients in office/hospital settings.
- Collaborate with nursing, office staff, and administration in patient care.
- Participate in education, evaluation and career development of students, residents, fellows and staff.
- MD, DO, or MB required.
- Unrestricted license to provide medical care in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of supervisory experience.
- Progressively more responsible positions in an academic setting.
- Understands and adheres to VHS compliance standards as they appear in VHS Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
- Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and VHS regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
