This contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide critical mental health services to children and adolescents while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.
As a Locum MD in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, you will play a vital role in assessing and treating young patients with various psychiatric disorders. You will collaborate with a team of mental health professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that foster the well-being and recovery of our patients. This role is essential in ensuring that we meet the mental health needs of the community effectively.
Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations of children and adolescents
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Provide psychotherapy and medication management as appropriate
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
- Educate families about mental health conditions and treatment options
- Participate in case conferences and clinical meetings
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- MD degree with a specialization in Psychiatry
- Board certification or eligibility in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Experience in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with mental health regulations and ethical standards
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care
- Active medical license in the state of practice
Schedule:
Weekend call, Friday 5p-Monday 8a
Setting:
Inpatient
Patient Volume: ~24 patients
106 beds
Average Length of Stay: 7-10 days
Duties: PHP, RTC, and acute services
Will also take general psychiatric cases
Support Staff:
Nurses and MHTS
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
