We are seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer to help clients develop, contract, and implement natural gas and potentially renewable energy generation projects while serving as Engineer of Record or Owner's Engineer.

HDR is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our national Power Generation team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will join a highly capable, multi-discipline team that supports power and energy projects primarily within the utility, IPP, industrial, and institutional sectors. Primary duties include leadership of the project mechanical team, coordination with other engineering disciplines, monitoring and communication of project status, and providing mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects on both technical and contractual levels.
Project roles vary by project size and type, and by the engineer's capabilities, experience, and focus. Typical roles include lead mechanical engineer and project engineering manager and may include project manager.

- BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in power generation design.
- Gas turbine, steam turbine and/or large reciprocating engine experience or subject matter expertise.
- Design experience with simple cycle and combined cycle power generation.
- Previous experience with an engineering power consulting or EPC firm desired.
- Minimum 10 years of experience, ideally in the fossil power industry with a blend of design and owner’s engineer projects.
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments; excellent communication and analytical skills; willingness to mentor less experienced engineers and EITs; proficient at working within an established schedule and budget; travel less than 10% for client and vendor meetings and site visits.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Professional Engineers (PE or P.Eng) license.
- Extensive experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software (examples include PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Auto Pipe, and Revit).

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
(Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.) The targeted salary range for this position (based on experience and location) is $108,661 - $204,250.
