We are currently seeking a Project Architect with federal project experience to join our growing team in either our Pensacola, Jacksonville, Virginia Beach, or Norfolk offices. This role is ideal for a licensed architect (or one near completion) who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and enjoys working on impactful government and public sector projects.

What You Will Do

This role will focus primarily on Department of Defense (DoD) and other government facility projects, with additional involvement in large‑scale commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and education design work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop design and construction documents, facilitate charrettes, develop studies and reports, field assessments, and other deliverables for Military/Department of Defense‑related projects.
  • Collaborate with PRIME AE’s inter‑office divisions – MEP, Structural Engineering – as well as external subconsultants.
  • Plan and supervise the preparation of construction documents and other deliverables for projects according to client goals, needs, and budgets.
  • Coordinate design disciplines, both in‑house and outside consultants.
  • Conduct periodic on‑site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with Detailed Design Documents.
  • Prepare client project presentations, studies, and reports as needed.
  • Utilize computer‑assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans – specifically AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project.
What You Will Bring
  • Registered Architect (or on track for completing licensing exams within 6 months).
  • LEED Accredited Professional strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in all phases of project design, construction documentation and construction materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening and written communication, including client presentations.
  • Experience with coordination of multiple design disciplines required for developing complete documents.
  • Proficient in Revit.
  • Strong knowledge base of building codes, standards, building structures, and engineering systems.
  • Excellent analytic and problem‑solving skills.
