Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary
: A local Defense Contractor is looking for Systems Engineers. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the training system to ensure optimal performance and effectiveness for naval personnel and perform various tasks across multiple systems' life cycles including requirements decomposition/traceability, interface design, risk management, technical reviews, prototyping, and test/fielding support.

Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and implement a state-of-the-art training system for Navy surface ships.
- Analyze and understand Navy training requirements to ensure the system meets operational needs effectively.
- Develop technical approaches to achieve desired capabilities and ensure realistic training scenarios.
- Develop system architecture and design specifications to integrate software and hardware components seamlessly into the shipboard training and readiness systems.
- Conduct assessments measuring technical progress and effectiveness of plans in meeting requirements.
- Leverage use of Commercial-off-the-Shelf/Government-off-the-Shelf/Non-Developmental Items (COTS/GOTS/NDI) to support development efforts.
- Perform Analysis of Alternatives to assess alternative options for design decisions.
- Design mechanisms to ensure a cybersecurity resilient system.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during system deployment, test, and training exercises for multiple platforms at various labs, sites, and shipboard locations.
- Stay current with advancements in technology, Navy training methodologies, and industry best practices to continuously improve the training system.
- Lead or attend Technical Interchange Meetings, Integrated Product Teams, and Working Groups.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
Experience:
Ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in systems engineering, with two (2) of the years being full-time experience at the system level in any of the following areas: requirements definition, system design parameters, concepts operation, risk assessment, productivity studies/analyses, performance analyses, test and evaluation, post-delivery support of COE or EW Systems.
Three (3) years of full-time professional experience in each of the following skillsets/disciplines:
- Operating systems experience in Windows and Linux
- Linux system administrator
- Hardware and software configuration management of tracking bug, enhancements, requirements, risks, test results, and tasks
- System and network security related activities to include design, implementation, configuration and enforcement of security controls on network, hardware, and software components and devices
One (1) year of full-time professional experience support of total Life-Cycle system design or equivalent academic background.
Clearance: TS/SCI
As a requirement of employment, all employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.
Location: Norfolk, VA
Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
