Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) has an opening for a Drafter/Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Operator IV to support the U.S. Coast Guard Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence Service Center (C5
ISC) in Portsmouth, VA. This position under the C5
ISC Engineering Services Division Technical Services Branch (ESD-TECH) will support the C5
ISC Product Lines and ESD System Engineers by developing technical drawings and graphics and helping to maintain standard document formatting for various C5I systems.

Responsibilities- Provide CADD services to update and/or create technical drawings, graphics, and other official business documentation (e.g., organizational and project management charts) upon Government request through the Remedy CGFIXIT Tool.
- Maintain assigned tasks within the CGFIXIT Tool.
- Maintain a library of final products in both the published and editable formats.
- Incorporate red‑line drawing updates and corrections into existing AutoCAD‑formatted interconnection drawings or develop new drawings as needed to reflect all equipment changes, system modifications, or corrections and to meet current electronic drafting standards and formats.
- Work with product line/ESD project sponsors and teams to ensure all information (equipment installed, system configuration, etc.) is up to date.
- Support product line and ESD engineering services within the scope of CADD services, including attending meetings and providing input to program/project managers regarding assigned tasks.
- Travel to various CONUS/OCONUS locations as needed to support the C5I systems.
- Conduct on‑site evaluations of asset configuration during visits and incorporate that information into technical drawings and graphics.
- Be proficient and qualified to develop, format, proof, edit/revise, produce, and publish CADD drawings in accordance with set standards.
- Possess a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
- Possess proficient writing skills.
- Have and maintain a U.S. Government SECRET security clearance.
- Hold a certification from a two‑year accredited technical school in Drafting with six years of drafting experience, or have a high‑school diploma with eight years of drafting experience; completion of one academic year at an accredited technical school may be substituted for one year of experience.
