Financial Analyst

Overview

General Dynamics NASSCO designs, builds, and repairs auxiliary and support ships for the U.S. Navy and commercial markets. NASSCO is a proud member of General Dynamics Marine Systems.

Financial Analyst – Norfolk, VA, USA. Shift: ALL. Security Clearance:
None.

• Support the annual budgets, long‑range plans, and periodic forecasting updates.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for internal customers, senior management, and parent company.
• Assist in contract estimates at completion analyses and revenue close.
• Support compliance activities including incurred cost submissions, audits, forward pricing rate submissions, and audits.
• Analyze monthly actual versus plan management reports and sustain the indirect department budgeting cycle.
• Provide accurate decision‑support data to management in a timely and accurate manner.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an analytical accounting or financial role.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency;
  Deltek CostPoint experience a plus.
• Strong mathematical ability; professional designation or MBA a plus.
• Government contractor accounting/financial role experience a plus.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong initiative and ability to manage competing priorities; willing to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

• Carrying, Lifting, Walking, Climbing, Pulling, Crawling.
• Must be able to go on vessels.
• Visual requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception.
• Noise level moderate.

Reports to the Director, Finance Department. Interfaces with all levels of personnel within business units, accounting, and finance personnel of NASSCO and General Dynamics companies, and external auditors.
