Financial Manager, Financial Reporting, Financial Analyst
Anglian Demolition & Asbestos Limited, based in Attleborough, Norfolk, is currently searching for a qualified or part-qualified finance professional to join our senior management team as a Financial Controller.
Our core business activities cover demolition and contracting services, scaffolding, and waste recycling services, which are provided by the Group throughout East Anglia.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated finance professional to influence our financial health and support sustainable growth through meticulous oversight and innovative financial management practices.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee the entire accounting function, manage financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting for the group. Your expertise will drive strategic financial planning, optimise cash management, and strengthen our financial controls across multiple entities.
Role Responsibilities- Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist the Group Chief Financial Officer in preparing annual budgets for all divisions, incorporating relevant KPIs.
- Consolidate divisional budgets into group-level forecasts to set clear performance targets.
- Maintain and update rolling forecasts to monitor performance, identify variances, and support strategic planning.
- Investigate variances between budgets, forecasts, and actual results.
- Management Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reports for each division.
- Present monthly financial results to the board and provide in-depth analysis.
- Review results with department heads, ensuring accountability for divisional performance.
- Support wider company management with financial insights and decision making.
- Cash Flow & Treasury Management
- Oversee daily and weekly cash flow, ensuring sufficient liquidity.
- Identify and manage short-term funding requirements and variances between forecast and actual results.
- Optimise use of invoice financing and credit facilities to maintain financial flexibility.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, investors, lenders, and potential acquisition targets.
- Accounting & Compliance
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions: accounts management, payroll, purchases, sales, cashbook, cashflow, credit control, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with HM Revenue & Customs requirements.
- Liaise with external auditors and accountancy partners as required.
- Ensure the financial function operates efficiently and adheres to Company policies and statutory requirements.
- Team Support & Development
- Provide guidance and support to junior finance team members.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider management team to achieve business objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with external contacts such as auditors, solicitors, and finance providers.
- Daily & Weekly Routines
- Reconcile bank accounts to both accounting software and cash flow schedules.
- Reconcile invoice financing balances and integrate any variances into the cash flow model.
- Raise sales invoices and applications for payment received from department heads.
- Upload invoices and applications to the invoice finance platform.
- Maintain and monitor credit limits with the invoice finance provider to ensure sufficient coverage for each customer and to maximise drawdown capacity.
- Prepare weekly supplier payment schedules.
- Prepare monthly CIS & quarterly VAT Returns.
- Process Improvement & Systems Implementation
- The incoming Financial Controller must be process-driven and confident in implementing new systems to deliver accurate reporting and scalability across the expanding group structure.
- Strong communication skills are essential, particularly when working with operational managers who may be less familiar with financial reporting or business growth processes.
- Solid understanding of group accounting principles and consolidation.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Ideally CIMA, ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) is desirable or with prior experience in a similar position within a multi-entity or divisional business.
- Experience with Xero accountancy software is desirable.
- Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used.
- Competitive salary starting from £55,000 upward (dependent on experience, discussed at interview)
