• You will operate a central computerized phone system console (e.g., multi-line 911 systems, Reverse 911 system, other equivalent communication device) to interpret and relay emergency information.
• You will evaluate emergency and administrative calls to determine the type of response required (e.g., fire, police, medical).
• You will use an automated system (e.g., Computer Aided Dispatch [CAD]) to input emergency and non-emergency response data for archive and immediate reference.
• You will instruct callers on what to do and what not to do before responding units arrive.

• You will need to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to duty. Failure to do so may result in withdrawal of the job offer or removal.
• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to support combat operations or essential systems immediately and continuously.
• You will need to obtain and maintain certifications in Telecommunicator 1, CPR, APCO or IAED EMD, DoD HAZMAT Awareness, and communications training officer (CTO).
• You will need to obtain and maintain a current CIC/NCIC/OPENFOX operator certification.
• You will be required to complete the RDC Training Program, including classroom and On-The-Job Training (OJT).
• You must pass a pre-appointment physical examination.
• As part of medical surveillance, periodic medical examinations will be required to ensure your medical fitness for work involving high stress.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience at or equivalent to the GS-03 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector, showing progressively responsible clerical or office work that indicates the ability to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills for this position.
