The Elite Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, recommends products and services, and delivers quality professional services with an emphasis on the guest’s total look. The position requires a passion for the beauty industry, exceptional guest service, and the aptitude to learn and communicate product knowledge.

Performance

• Perform hair services including cutting, coloring, texture, treatments, styling, and extensions.
• Meet or exceed sales goals of $1,900 average weekly sales and productivity targets.
• Perform product demonstrations and support in‑store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives.
• Stay informed of industry trends and product benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain prompt, regular attendance.

People

• Develop guest relationships through consultations and appropriate product recommendations.
• Serve all guests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a total‑store experience.
• Share details of the guest loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app with guests.
• Attend mandatory training and meetings to support professional development.

Process

• Know and comply with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures before, during, and after services.
• Use booking and clientele systems to book guests for return services and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the Experience Manager and maintain store operational standards.
• Adhere to the Ulta Beauty dress code and protect company assets while providing exceptional guest service.

Education

• Cosmetology license required.

Experience

• Previous relevant work experience required.

Skills

• Proficiency with latest salon techniques and an aptitude to develop skills in all service categories.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals needed for technical work.
• Ability to demonstrate, recommend, and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

Special Position Requirements

• Work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Continuous mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting up to 10 lbs during shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time during shift.
• Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.
