As a Technician, you will support the pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within your store. Technicians are often the first point of contact to assist patients and customers and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
Responsibilities- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off).
- Contribute to positive patient experiences with empathy and genuine care, including immunizations and other services where applicable; assist and escalate patient problems as needed.
- Complete basic inventory activities and assist with cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, waiting bin inventories, and related tasks as directed.
- Contribute to a high-performing team, seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge, and embrace feedback.
- Maintain scheduling flexibility and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic; may travel to stores as needed by the business.
- Understand and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, professional standards, and CVS policies to ensure patient safety, privacy, and security.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowable by law and with required training and certification.
Where permissible, may support immunizations with responsibilities including licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status, educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.
Qualifications- Must comply with state board requirements and laws governing the practice of pharmacy (age, education, licensure/certification).
- If no minimum age is mandated by the state board, must be at least 16 years old.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program, if not addressed by the state board.
- State-level licensure and national certification requirements vary by state.
- Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, switch tasks as needed to meet patient and business needs, verify prescription information and labeling accuracy.
- Customer service and teamwork: assist patients and colleagues in a friendly manner; respond to patient reactions appropriately.
- Communication: use verbal and written communication effectively; practice active listening.
- Mathematical reasoning: calculate days’ supply, counts, and related quantities to dispense prescriptions.
- Problem resolution: identify and resolve challenging patient or colleague interactions.
- Physical demands: be mobile, lift and handle items, reach, type, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills; vision for reading and inspecting small parts; occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.
- Other tasks as directed by supervisor or manager.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market to meet business needs.

- Time Type:
Full time - Pay Range: $16.00 - $24.00 per hour (base pay; actual offer depends on experience, education, geography, and other factors).
