Chaplain NON‑EXE – Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters

This overnight chaplain position works Monday through Thursday from 8:30 PM (2030) to 7:00 AM (0700).

• Provide spiritual care to patients, families and staff through visitation, pastoral counseling, crisis intervention, bereavement support and follow‑up.
• Utilize a variety of religious and spiritual resources to meet the needs of a diverse patient population.
• Serve as a resource for staff regarding skill demonstration, promotion of knowledge and communication.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care.
• Focus on ethical issues alongside patients, families and staff.
• Demonstrate responsibility and accountability for professional growth related to job knowledge and skill competence.
• Participate in establishing departmental objectives and processes with the Manager to achieve desired outcomes.
• Provide mentorship and skills demonstration to peers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• None required.

• Graduation from an accredited college.
• Theological education with a Master of Divinity degree or equivalent.
• Completion of basic Clinical Pastoral Education (minimum of four units of CPE).
• Ordination or commission to function in ministry by an approved denominational authority.
• Minimum of one year pastoral experience, including work with children.
• Experience in mental health care is a plus.
• Security clearance: FBI fingerprinting, criminal background check, Child Protective Services registry search.

Patient care environment with exposure to environmental hazards such as excessive noise, dust, temperature extremes, communicable diseases, and moderately adverse conditions due to patient activities.
