Medical Records Clerk

Location: Hybrid 1:
This role requires associates to be in-office 1 day per week in our Atlanta, Georgia or Norfolk, VA office, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered.

Hours :
Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm EST.

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for maintaining patient files, responds to requests for medical records and performs clerical activities in support of the medical records department.

How will you make an impact:
  • Protect the security and integrity of medical records to ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained in compliance with company policies and federal, state and local regulations
  • Maintains patient files and retrieves files for scheduled appointments
  • Responds to requests for medical records; processes letters and report
  • Review records for accuracy and completeness (not clinical decision-making), ensuring documentation aligns with what was requested
  • Index, label, and upload records into internal systems for use by investigators, auditors, or clinical reviewers
Minimum Requirements:
  • Requires a HS Diploma or GED and a minimum of 1 year related experience; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and

Qualifications:

  • Experience with claims and document management systems
  • Experience with medical record tracking tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and record types
