Position Overview

The HII Mission Technologies Information Technology Project Management Office (ITPMO) seeks a REMOTE Information Systems Project Manager
2. This hands‑on technical role coordinates end‑to‑end cross‑discipline leadership of IT projects, from business applications and infrastructure implementations to innovative capabilities and business change initiatives. The PM is accountable for on‑time, on‑budget, high‑quality delivery while managing multiple projects of varying complexity and risk.

Responsibilities
  • Project Planning – work closely with project team and business stakeholders to define the approach, activities, and timelines for project execution, leveraging best practices; tailor standard methodologies for each initiative.
  • Project Management – apply modern techniques to manage scope, quality, time, and cost; organize and lead status meetings; prepare progress reports; present to executive steering committees; proactively identify and mitigate risks and issues; manage change; build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Project Team Management – hold teams accountable for responsibilities and deliverables; enhance communication, schedules, and issue tracking; foster empowerment and high standards; advocate for team and stakeholders.
  • Process Management and Improvement – champion continuous improvement and adoption of best practices.
  • Change Management – understand change impacts; lead the team in developing and executing change plans; encourage cross‑functional business involvement to ensure alignment and buy‑in.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship
  • Relevant IT project management experience/education: 2 years with a bachelor’s, 0 years with a master’s, or 6 years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical proficiency and understanding of IT concepts and technologies.
  • Experience leading diverse IT projects: COTS implementations, system integrations, infrastructure expansion/refreshes, business process re‑engineering.
  • Proficiency with Confluence, JIRA, MS Project, and MS Visio.
  • Ability to manage remote projects across different US time zones.
  • Strong grasp of Agile, Hybrid & Waterfall methodologies.
  • Ability to establish goals, validate acceptance, challenge stakeholders, and maintain accountability.
  • Excellent requirements gathering, documentation, and consultative skills.
  • Capability to resolve technical issues and communicate complex information to varied audiences.
  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships, address conflict, and maintain organization and drive.
Preferred Requirements
  • Experience with agile transformations and PMO maturity initiatives.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PBA, CSM, ACP, SAFe, or Lean Six Sigma.
Physical Requirements

Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for the responsibilities of this role.
