We are currently seeking a Network Engineer to support operations in Norfolk, VA. This is a full‑time position requiring an active DoD TS clearance.

This position is contingent upon contract award with an expected award date of January 2026.

• Provide network engineering, administration, and cybersecurity support for multi‑classification cyber OT&E networks and infrastructure.
• Design, install, configure, and maintain cyber labs (attack, analysis, training), toolsets, and flyaway kits.
• Create virtualized environments to support test events, ensure operational readiness, and troubleshoot issues during execution.
• Administer network systems: apply patches, harden systems, review logs, and ensure physical/electronic security.
• Support RMF compliance activities, including documentation and vulnerability analysis.
• Configure networks to support penetration testing and on‑keyboard cyber training events.
• Integrate server and virtual hosting technologies into secure network architecture.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and brief OPTEVFOR leadership on a weekly basis.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related field (ABET/CAE‑accredited) OR 5+ years’ experience in network design, infrastructure, and security.
• At least 3 years of RMF security testing experience.

Technical Expertise:

• Hands‑on experience configuring routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Proficiency in Python, Perl, or shell scripting for automation.
• Experience applying STIGs, IAVA compliance, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
• Familiarity with RMF, network segmentation, and defense‑in‑depth design.

Certifications:

• Must have a current and active DoD TS security clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI clearance.
• Proficient with modern IT tools and infrastructure technologies.

Preferred (Nice To Have):

• Working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, VPN security, PKI, and common attack vectors.
• Familiarity with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) tools and traffic analysis.
• Experience supporting DoD environments and cyber OT&E missions.
• Understanding of RMF documentation, security assessments, and accreditation artifacts.

• Some overnight stays possible.

• Compliance with vaccination and medical requirements for TDY/OCONUS roles as per Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil.

• Primarily an office‑based role in Norfolk, VA.
• Standard desk/computer work with flexibility for walking and movement on site.
• Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
• Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
• May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
