Training Operations Support Specialist

Location: Norfolk, VA

Remote Status: On-Site

Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000 per year

Purpose
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Training Operations Support Specialist who will provide essential Training and Development capabilities in support of Norfolk, Virginia.
Job Description
  • Responsible for developing and providing training on IT systems, computer hardware and software.
  • Provide on‑site Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) / Area of Responsibility (AOR) NAMTS support for Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center (CNRMC).
  • Support local Navy Afloat Training Activities (NATAs) when no Afloat NAMTS Coordinator (ANC) is assigned to the AOR.
  • Conduct United Services Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP) and JQR indoctrination training, including NAMTS program overviews for NTMA leadership and NAMTS candidates.
  • Organize and facilitate NAMTS training sessions, waterfront outreach, and engagement events at the assigned RMC/AOR.
  • Provide administrative, technical, process‑improvement, and analytical support to the NAMTS program within the assigned RMC/AOR.
  • Evaluate program information and provide recommendations, lessons learned, and best practices to NTMA leadership, CNRMC, Project Management, and Technical Support teams.
  • Enroll NAMTS candidates and track their progress within the RMC/AOR.
  • Maintain historical records, JQR feedback reports, and lessons learned for the assigned region.
  • Analyze project data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities; develop recommendations and help monitor policy and process changes.
  • Apply scientific, mathematical, operational design, and other data‑collection methodologies to develop metrics for the RMC/AOR and CNRMC.
  • Communicate program concerns, updates, and process changes to RMC/AOR stakeholders and CNRMC.
  • Apply continuous process improvement to all assigned tasks.
  • Proactively seek, document, and communicate project‑team feedback.
  • Provide training at various locations.
  • Use the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) Instructional Systems Development (ISD) training model when developing new curriculum.
  • Provide day‑to‑day Training Development. Design and conduct training and development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. May analyze training needs.
Qualifications
  • Must have at least 10 years of experience in developing and providing Information Technology (IT) and end user training on computer hardware and application software.
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have sufficient knowledge and experience to teach IT courses.
  • Must be proficient in the System Software Suite for IT systems of record.
  • Must have been responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and making recommendations for improvements in previous roles.
  • Must have experience configuring, installing and troubleshooting hardware, software and local area network (LAN) issues/problems.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, the ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and determine priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Must have excellent people skills; communication and familiarity with a customer support environment are crucial.
Desired Qualifications
  • Verified completion of the Air Force Instructor Training Course/Basic Instructor Course or equivalent is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience within a Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity (SIMA), Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SUPSHIP), Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), or a Non‑Nuclear Afloat Maintenance Department is preferred.
  • Experience supervising the scheduling, training, and quality assurance (QA) of Sailors performing Intermediate‑Level shipboard maintenance and repair on engineering, deck, combat systems, and/or C4I equipment is preferred.
  • An understanding of AETCI 36-2651, Basic Military and Technical Training is preferred.
Security Requirements
