SAIC is looking for Network Administrators with experience in US Navy IT networks to support the sustained operation and maintenance of a newly deployed naval enterprise transport network, ensuring 24/7/365 availability and reliability. The position will support end-to-end network, system, and element visibility; facilitate rapid operations, administration, maintenance, and provisioning to maintain the operational integrity of a mission‑critical network, requiring both technical expertise and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.
This position is onsite in Suffolk, VA.
Duties Include:
- Provide Tier 2 level engineering operations support to quickly identify, triage, and address outages, analyzing symptoms and potential root causes to implement effective resolutions or escalating to Tier 3 support as required.
- Utilize advanced monitoring tools and processes to oversee network infrastructure, monitor the performance and availability of managed services and systems across multiple exchange points, and ensure optimal performance.
- Perform day to day maintenance, fixes, configuration corrections, software and hardware updates, and deployments.
- Adhere to system and operational reporting obligations.
- Operate and maintain the privileged access solutions.
- Maintain continuous verification of failover processes and disaster recovery procedures.
- Operate and maintain hardware upgrade process and procedures.
- Update and maintain any software builds applicable to deployed equipment.
- Enact change management for the solution.
- Operate and maintain existing incident management processes.
- Keep firmware, software updates and patches up to date for equipment.
- Support the design, analysis, planning, modification and maintenance of the network and network components supporting data, voice and/or audio communication activities.
- Support analysis of short/long term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission and signaling.
- Conduct tests of network systems.
- Support the evaluation of new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and two (2) years relevant experience supporting a large network infrastructure; 4 years of additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree. - Required Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI.

Skills and Experience:
Experience required with:
Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP);
Access Control Lists;
Layer 2 Switching;
Spanning Tree;
Packet Analysis; SPINE-LEAF architecture. Experience with the following is a plus:
Arista switches;
Palo Alto Firewalls; TAP and network visibility (i.e. Gigamon, Net Scout); SD‑WAN and Spine‑Leaf Architecture; working with VLANs and VRFs; configuring IPSEC tunnels; and troubleshooting routing issues. Working knowledge of SD‑WAN, Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and Virtual Private Network devices. Understanding of TCP/IP in regard to routing and subnetting. Capable of supporting TACACS+ on Cisco ISE and ISE Cube. - Required
Certifications:
IAT Level II required (Sec +), CCNA/CCNP. Six‑month waiver authorized to obtain. - Working Environment: Must be able to work shifts to cover a 24x7 operational environment.
