Position: INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Summary

You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) in the COMMUNICATIONS and INFORMATION SYSTEMS DIVISION, C5I OPERATIONS   of DIR, MARITIME OPERATIONS CTR, USFFC.

Duties
  • You will be responsible for several information systems security networks, which the combined number of network nodes is over five hundred.
  • You will function as the Command’s focal point and principal advisor for cybersecurity matters on behalf of the Chief of Staff.
  • You will develop, implement, and maintain the U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFF) cybersecurity Program for all networks/systems operated within USFF HQ.
  • You will perform detailed and complex analysis of hardware, operating systems, data communications and applications to determine adequacy of cybersecurity safeguards for the USFF networks/systems.
  • You will be responsible as the Information Systems Security Manager for conducting and ensuring a Risk Management program is implemented within the command.
  • You will perform cyber security risk Assessment analysis for hardware, software, data communications and design countermeasures proposed for or in operation at USFF.
  • You will approve the use of security solutions for cybersecurity and implementations of procedures to execute the solution.
  • You will be the command Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Cyber Security Work Force (CSWF) Program Manager.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role-code (INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY MANAGER), proficiency level (ADVANCED).
  • The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722/Information Systems Security Manager Level Advanced within 12 months of appointment.
  • An annual 20-hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor.
  • Participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
