We are seeking mission-driven professionals to join Team Red Pulley in supporting Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic (SURFLANT).

Are you skilled in combat systems and ready to impact fleet readiness? We’re seeking Combat Systems Officer Support professionals to work alongside technical experts, operators, and leadership to support system integration, readiness assessments, and operational coordination that strengthen war fighting capability.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with combat systems training, certification, and readiness assessment processes for Surface Navy units.
  • Proven ability to analyze readiness data, including equipment status reports, training assessments, and fleet metrics, and translate findings into actionable recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Excellent ability to coordinate across multiple commands and stakeholders to support readiness and operational decisions
  • Excellent experience reviewing policy changes and identifying potential impacts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of briefings, reports, and visual aids for senior Navy stakeholders
  • Experience as a Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM), Ship’s Test Officer (STO), or equivalent senior combat systems leadership role is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a headquarters environment supporting multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

Security Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret Security Clearance (preferred)
  • Ability to maintain DoD clearance eligibility

Travel Requirements

  • Position is primarily based at Naval Station, Norfolk
  • Might require periodic travel within a 50-mile radius

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor daily readiness of Surface Navy combat systems, including AW, BMD, IAMD, SUW, STW, and Embedded Training Systems, using official messages, reports, and direct coordination.
  • Provide readiness findings, trends, and risk assessments to the Force Combat Systems Officer (F-CSO) and staff.
  • Assess policy changes for impacts to Fleet stakeholders and provide recommendations to leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver formal briefings and readiness updates on combat systems issues affecting manning, training, and equipping of SURFLANT surface combatants.
  • Coordinate combat systems capability requirements with USFFC, MDA, PEO-IWS, NSWC, and Fleet commanders supporting deploying units.
  • Coordinate with CSG-4 and ATG Atlantic to support combat systems integration, certification, evaluation, and training execution.
  • Support the planning, execution, and evaluation of integrated combat systems and training scenarios, including LVC events.
  • Coordinate with PEO-IWS on Integrated Combat Systems (ICS) development efforts across design, testing, fielding, and sustainment phases.
  • Liaise with Regional Maintenance Centers (RMCs) and In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEAs) to resolve combat systems operational and logistics issues, including forward-deployed support.
  • Collaborate with Fleet Directors, Warfare Development Centers, ATG, and subordinate commands to develop and standardize tactics, techniques, procedures (TTPs), doctrine, and training programs.
  • Attend and represent the F-CSO at meetings, teleconferences, and video teleconferences, as required.
  • Document meeting outcomes, action items, and decisions, and prepare supporting briefing materials and visual aids.
  • Support development of standardized IW, EW, and Intel tactics, techniques, procedures (TTPs), doctrine, training, and evaluation programs in coordination with Fleet Directors and warfare development organizations.
  • Attend and participate in internal and external meetings, teleconferences, and VTCs on behalf of or in support of the F-IWO and staff.
  • Document meeting minutes and prepare briefing slides, reports, and visual aids to support leadership decision-making.
