Position: Senior Technician (Digital Infrastructure) with Security Clearance

Position Overview The Senior Technician (Digital Infrastructure) serves as a critical system administrator providing comprehensive support for NU, , and NS CIS systems within the CSU Norfolk area of responsibility. This role requires advanced technical expertise in enterprise computing services, including Windows and Linux system administration, virtualization technologies, and Active Directory management. The position supports mission-critical digital infrastructure operations, provides tier 2 technical support, and ensures optimal system performance and security across the NATO enterprise environment.

This is a full-time, on-site contract position from March 16, 2026 through December 31, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration and Infrastructure Management:
* Accomplish system administrator duties for NU,  NS CIS systems in the CSU AoGR;
* Maintain and update VMware Virtual Environment;
* Analyze and implement Microsoft Active Directory changes to meet user or operational requirements;
* Analyze and update Microsoft & Linux policies for system optimization and security;
* Maintain Physical Server Hardware in local Data Centre;
* Implement and test new software versions and patches. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
* Accomplish server/client hardware and software troubleshooting actions;
* Provide assistance with fault resolution and document actions in accordance with Incident Management procedures;
* Provide status updates for assigned requests using ITSM Service Desk Software;
* Follow-up with users on completed requests prior to closing. Automation and Process Improvement:
* Write Power Shell commands and scripts to automate system administration tasks;
* Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for routine system administration duties. Collaboration and Additional Duties:
* Provide collaboration and assistance to other work sections within Service Operations Branch in support of mission requirements;
* Deputize for higher grade staff as required;
* Perform other duties as may be required;
* Must be able to lift items up to 25 lbs.

Required Qualifications:

* The candidate must have a currently active NATO SECRET security clearance;
* Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 2 years post-related experience, OR a secondary educational qualification with 4 years post-related experience;
* Minimum 2 years' practical, hands-on experience supporting core enterprise computing services:
* System Administration on a large computer network;
* Windows & Linux Operating Systems;
* Active Directory & Group Policy Management;
* Virtualization of servers and desktops;
* Storage Area Networks (SANs);
* Data Backup systems;
* Use of scripting to automate tasks;
* Large scale system management tools, such as MCM (Microsoft Configuration Manager);
* ITIL Problem Management. Highly Desirable

Qualifications:

* University Bachelor's degree in a CIS related subject;
* Active certifications covering CIS related topics from recognized & accredited organizations;
* Practical experience in the area of cybersecurity;
* Comprehensive knowledge of the principles of computer and communications security, networking, and the vulnerabilities of modern operating systems and applications;
* ITIL certification and experience in applying ITIL Change Management and/or Service Asset and Configuration Management processes;
* Prior experience working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements;
* Knowledge of NATO responsibilities and organization, including ACO and ACT. Language Requirements: A thorough knowledge of English, both written and spoken, is essential. Special

Physical ability to lift equipment up to 25 lbs. Position requires 100% on-site presence at CSU Norfolk.
