Position: IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) with Security Clearance
Duties Help
* Position is assigned to a Stake-Holder Integration Services (J6) Customer Support Branch as an IT Specialist providing specialized support engaged in a wide range of technical and professional Information Technology (IT) functions.
* Provides technical and analytical IT support that involves providing customer support in response to customer requests.
* Research and provide feedback on observed trends and patterns.
* Develops, installs and troubleshoots customer hardware and software issues.
* Diagnose and resolve problems in response to customer IT problems and issues.

This position may be transitioning to DISA in Fiscal Year (FY) 2027; the candidate selected for this recruitment may be reassigned to DISA with the position in FY 27. Qualifications To qualify for an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) your resume and supporting documentation must support:

A. Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-11 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector.

To qualify at the GS-09 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement.

Creditable specialized experience includes:

- GS-9:
Provides user training on PC hardware and software operations via telephone, email, remote access, and/or through on-site customer visits;
Coordinates with hardware contractors, software vendors and end users to monitor/assure hardware/software system quality, reliability and information security;
Participates in and/or personally manages the investigation, isolation, diagnosis and resolution of complex technical problems affecting users and/or systems security, accuracy and reliability.

- GS-11:
Assists other IT Specialists in the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, surveillance and maintenance of a variety of hardware and software and integrates a wide range of Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) software packages;
Coordinates with other IT specialists to improve and confirm the quality of existing/proposed software;
Loads customer computers with the required software packages(s) and keeps lead officials informed regarding installations, quality of software and customer satisfaction.

Education:

Education must be from a college or university accredited by an organization approved by the U.S. Department of Education. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. - GS-09:
Applicants must possess a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

- GS-11:
Applicants must possess Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or…
