Role Overview An enterprise-level network operations team requires a systems engineer to manage its network management systems infrastructure. This role involves administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 backend servers and managing critical network monitoring applications. The selected professional will ensure platform optimization, high availability, and security compliance to support essential network operations.

Key Responsibilities Provision, configure, and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 servers hosting core network management systems.

Optimize operating system performance, including memory allocation and storage subsystems, to manage telemetry and configuration data.

Manage patch deployment and resolve server software vulnerabilities using enterprise repository tools.

Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks to automate system deployment and routine administrative tasks.

Enforce operating system security policies, access rules, and configurations to ensure system integrity.

Administer, upgrade, and troubleshoot enterprise network management applications and platform components.

Configure system polling, customize simple network management protocols, and establish performance alert thresholds.

Collaborate on data integration between the monitoring infrastructure and enterprise asset management systems.

Required Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, network engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Experience:

Three to five or more years of experience managing enterprise networks and network administration platforms.

Technical

Skills:

Advanced administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 environments, including system logging, file system volume management, and performance troubleshooting tools. Proficiency with automation scripting in Ansible, Python, or Bash is required. Solid understanding of network protocols including SNMP, Syslog, SSH, ICMP, and Net Flow is also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification.

Experience integrating network management systems with Service Now or other IT service management tools.
