Personal Injury Pre-Litigation Attorney

Job Overview

Our client, a well-respected law firm, is seeking a motivated attorney to join their growing personal injury team. This full-time, on-site role located in Norfolk, VA focuses on intake, client engagement, and case development before litigation. Salary: $80,000-$100,000.

• Client Consultations & Case Evaluation
  • Meet with potential clients to review details of personal injury matters.
  • Evaluate records such as medical files, police reports, and witness statements.
  • Assess liability and potential outcomes for new cases.
• Negotiations & Settlements
  • Communicate with insurance representatives and opposing counsel on behalf of clients.
  • Review offers, provide recommendations, and negotiate fair settlements.
  • Work to secure compensation for medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages.
• Case Preparation & Documentation
  • Draft demand letters and settlement correspondence.
  • Compile and maintain evidence and case files.
  • Calculate damages and prepare accurate financial documentation.
• Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the main point of contact during the intake and pre-litigation process.
  • Clearly explain legal steps, timelines, and expectations to clients.
  • Keep current on personal injury case law and best practices.
  • Develop strategies tailored to each client’s situation.
  • Work closely with colleagues, paralegals, medical providers, and expert witnesses.
  • Ensure all case deadlines and legal requirements are met.

• Juris Doctor (JD) and active license to practice law in Virginia.
• Knowledge of personal injury law and related procedures.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to balance independent work with collaboration in a team setting.
