Aerotek is seeking experienced Outside Machinists to support major shipbuilding and repair projects at Huntington Ingalls Shipbuilding in Newport News, VA.

? What We're Looking For

4+ years of experience as an Outside Machinist, Marine Machinist, or Machinist Mate

Experience working on U.S. Navy vessels, shipyards, or commercial marine projects

Ability to install, repair, and maintain shipboard mechanical systems

Key Responsibilities

Install, align, and troubleshoot pumps, motors, engines, and propulsion systems

Perform valve repairs, overhauls, and hydrostatic testing

Maintain and repair shipboard AC and refrigeration equipment

Operate machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines, and boring bars

Install and service hydraulic systems, air compressors, and auxiliary equipment

Use precision measuring instruments to ensure proper fit, alignment, and performance

Assist with shafting, bearing installations, and operational testing

$35.00/hour

$140/day Tax-Free Per Diem (for qualified travelers)

This is a Contract position based out of Norfolk, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
