Machinist

We are seeking a Manual Machinist for a well known Electric Motor Shop in Virginia Beach, VA. This role requires someone with manual machinist experience or someone with program experience as a CNC machinist.

• Up to42/hr depending on experience + overtime opportunities. If your target pay is higher, we still encourage you to apply—we could request adjustments based on experience and market conditions

• Manufacture and make repairs per instructions and/or drawings
• Operate all machine shop equipment
• Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging
• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections
• Properly fill out all paperwork

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating milling machines, lathes, boring mills, and grinders
• Must have ability to work with extremely close tolerances (example: .0005” to .001”) and meet allotted time frames
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be physically able to safely operate equipment, able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and capable of standing/stooping/kneeling for long periods of time.
• We are a service industry on call to our customers 24/7/365. To meet our customer's needs, employees must be able to work overtime as needed, including extended hours outside of assigned shift. This also includes weekends/holidays.
• Openings on first and second shift. Overtime expected (weekends/holidays).
