Ferguson, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a Machinist to join our team at the Norfolk, VA Pump Repair Facility. You will work Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm, with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities- Set up and maintain machines in the shop for pump fabrication.
- Accurately measure, record, and draw pump components using tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, inside micrometers, and indicators.
- Read and analyze design drawings, work orders, and production schedules.
- Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as VTL, horizontal boring machines, and lathes.
- Support teardown and assembly of pumps when machining is not required.
- Observe safety precautions for fabrication, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping of equipment and parts for storage and transportation.
- Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe‑operating procedures.
- May be responsible for providing driver duties and responsibilities.
- Inside machinist experience required.
- Minimum age 18.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license required.
- Ability to work independently while building tools or fixtures for production.
- Strong conceptual skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
- Results‑focused in a fast‑paced customer‑service environment.
- Welding experience a plus.
Hourly: $19.47 – $42.31 per hour. Roles are bonus or incentive plan eligible. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements. Ferguson complies with all wage regulations.
