** Position Overview
*** Full Time Days: 40 hours per week.
* Assume the role as the expert clinical resource for clinical staff and healthcare providers in the inpatient setting to include support groups.
* You will plan and coordinate education and care of patients/persons with diabetes across a continuum in collaboration with other disciplines, community agencies and Sentara subsidiaries.
* You will provide patients and their families staff education to promote wellness and prevention of complications associated with diabetes.
** Minimum Qualifications
**** License / Certification*
* * Registered Nurse (RN) Compact license or Virginia license in good standing.
* Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) required within 2 years of hire.
** Experience
* ** 2 years working with diabetic patients
* Expert skills in diabetes patient education/care.
* Ability to perform all interventions and procedures necessary to care for diabetes patients.
