This full-time, on-site position offers an exciting opportunity for entry-level professionals to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and rewarding healthcare environment.
As a Locum NP, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care within the cardiothoracic surgery department. Your responsibilities will include assisting in surgical procedures, conducting pre-operative assessments, and ensuring the well-being of patients throughout their recovery process. This role is essential in supporting our mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services and improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Assist in cardiothoracic surgical procedures and patient management
- Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and post-operative care
- Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
- Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and recovery
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies
- Stay updated with the latest practices in cardiothoracic surgery
- Graduate degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
- Current Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of practice
- Basic understanding of cardiothoracic surgery procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting
Schedule:
6:45p-7:45a
Call Requirement: 1-2 days per week
Setting: CSICU
Nightly Volume: 20 patients, 1 admission
Required Skills:
Arterial catheters, venous lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, chest tube placement, endoscopic radial harvest, etc.
First assist on CABG, valves, heart transplants, aortic dissections, thoracotomies, ECMO, cannulations, and MCS implantations
ECMO, transplant, and mechanical circulatory device experience preferred
Support Staff: 5 ICU APPs, 7 OR APPs

Must be board-certified
