Sentara Heart Hospital – Registered Nurse Traveler – Advanced Heart Failure Unit
Location:
Sentara Heart Hospital, on the Campus of Sentara Norfolk General, Norfolk, Virginia.
Salary: $70 per hour.
Shift: Temp Full Time Day Shift.
Travel:
Traveler.
The Advanced Heart Failure Unit (AHFU) is a 24‑bed high‑acuity cardiac care unit specializing in:
- Severe heart failure
- Pre‑ and post‑heart transplant care
- Pulmonary hypertension
While Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) and transplant experience are not required, nurses may grow their skills in these areas.
Clinical Environment & Equipment- Advanced bedside monitoring systems and other high‑tech equipment.
- Opportunities to titrate intravenous medications based on hemodynamic monitoring.
- 24/7 consistent communication and intricate interdisciplinary teamwork.
- Strong culture of collaboration and mutual support.
- Typical nurse‑to‑patient ratio: 3–4 patients, depending on acuity.
Must have 2 or more years of recent acute care Cardiac hospital RN experience.
Education & Certification- Associates, Bachelor's, Master's, or diploma in Nursing required.
- Virginia or Compact Multi‑State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
