Registered Nurse for Same Day Surgery (Surgical Prep and Recovery) at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital providing perioperative nursing care including patient assessment/admission, medication administration, rounding, family communication, and overall patient care on rotating 8-hour shifts. Position requires active RN licensure and BLS (additional specialty certifications like ACLS, PALS, NRP, oncology chemo certification as applicable) with BSN completion required within five years if not already obtained.

Full-time role with comprehensive benefits, sign-on bonus eligibility, career advancement, and work in a tertiary care, Level I trauma, Magnet-designated hospital.

Overview:

Sentara is currently hiring a Registered Nursefor the Same Day Surgery Unit at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

This is a Full Rime RN position with rotating 8 hour shift located in Norfolk, VA.

Job Requirements:

RN-Associate's Degree OR RN-Bachelor's Level Degree ORRN-Diploma (Non-degree) OR RN-Doctorate Level Degree ORRN-Master's Level Degree

Required:

Registered Nurse

Preferred:
Basic Life Support

New Hire Education Requirement:

All Registered Nurses who do not have their BSN will be required to sign a BSN Agreement committing to successfully obtain their BSN within 5 years of hire. BSN or MSN preferred. Meets and maintains any requirements defined by specific specialty;
Critical Care/IMCU/EP/Advanced Heart Failure Center/SMG Cardiology Practices- ACLS within 1 year of hire;
Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC within 1 year of hire; de-escalation and physical intervention training within 90 days of hire.

For designated Oncology units, Oncology Care ONS/ONCC or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire. Women's Care - Perinatal departments; NRP within 6 months of hire. Behavioral Health - De-escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire.

Inpatient Pediatrics. PALS within 6 months of hire. All Direct Care RN's required to have BLS within 90 days of hire.
