PCU RN Requirements- Active Virginia RN License
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU nursing experience within the past 4 years
- Current BLS
- American Heart Association (AHA) - Current ACLS
- American Heart Association (AHA) - Current QuantiFERON-TB Gold test within the past 12 months
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
Additional credentials may be required based on the hospital assignment.
Responsibilities- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in an acute care hospital setting
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and other specialized equipment required for PCU patients
- Recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
- Follow hospital policies, infection-control standards, and patient-safety guidelines
- Provide patient and family education
- Adapt professionally to different hospital environments and unit needs
