Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse – Virginia
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 13-week assignment, nights, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend, every other holiday (must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays)
Highlights:
- High-volume Labor & Delivery unit with approximately 2,000 annual deliveries
- 8 private labor rooms, 4 private triage beds, and 2 OB operating rooms
- Mixed patient population including low-risk certified nurse midwife patients and high-risk maternal fetal medicine cases
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Cross-training opportunities to Mother/Baby unit and potential float to NICU (feeders/growers)
- Patient ratios of 1:2 for focused, quality care
Requirements:
- Active Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
- BLS, NRP, Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- ACLS certification preferred
- BSN preferred
- Skills must include cesarean section circulation (required), triage of obstetrical patients, neonatal resuscitation, newborn assessment, and high-risk antepartum care
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
