Senior QA-NDT Inspector

PurposeColonna's Shipyard is seeking a Senior QA-NDT Inspector to oversee shipyard operations in Norfolk, VA.
Job Description- Oversee and monitor inspections, then document inspection results on required forms.
- Perform VT, MT, PT, UTT, Shear Wave, and UT inspections as required.
- Analyze documents, drawings, customer requirements, and quality procedures to ensure compliance with customer requirements and standards.
- Generate, review, and/or submit condition found reports, test and inspection plans, process control procedures, test documents, and/or corrective action reports (CAR) to document customer requirements or non-conformances.
- Inventory and maintain test equipment and gauges.
- Prepare presentation materials, teaching aids, handouts, etc., and conduct training when requested.
- Perform audits and/or surveillance as needed or assigned.
- Work independently to complete responsibilities.
- Travel to work locations when required, both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Abide by all safety requirements.
- Mentor junior QA/NDT Inspectors.
- At least five (5) years of experience in NDT and Quality Control/Assurance.
- At least four (4) of the following NDT certifications: VT, MT, PT, UTT, UT, Shear Wave, CPI/NACE Level II.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, communication, and writing skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to access Government facilities.
- Understanding of NAVSEA Standard Items and other Government Specifications.
- Regular, reliable attendance.
- Related Department of Defense experience, including direct experience with government customer relations.
- Experience with NAVSEA Standard Items and ISO requirements.
- Occasional travel; 25% or less.
- Ability to access Government facilities and be DBIDS eligible.
- Position requires U.S. citizenship.
- Perform lifting and carrying various objects, climbing stairs, moving throughout the facility and aboard vessels.
- Work involves frequent movement up to 65% of the time.
- Exposure to noise, dust, etc.
- Close vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus.
- Office and shipyard/industrial environments.
- Computing time on personal computer.
