Overview

Are you detail-oriented and organized with a commitment to quality and efficiency? We’re looking for a dependable Receiver at Norfolk State University to play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our dining services.

In this hands-on position, you'll be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and tracking food and supply deliveries—ensuring they meet our quality standards and supporting our mission to deliver high-quality dining experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Accurately receive and document incoming deliveries.
  • Ensure received items meet quality standards and report issues.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and assist in stock rotation.
  • Properly store items following food safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate deliveries and communicate inventory needs with the team.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a receiving or inventory management role, preferably in food service or related industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to handle and move heavy boxes and supplies.
