Position: Host - Hilton Norfolk The Main
Overview

To provide guest services including, but not limited to seating, food ordering, merchandise sales, while assisting with general restaurant operations in a manner that best represents the company image and quality standards.

Roles
  • Lead: Utilizes standard seating procedures to coordinate efficient guest seating based on table availability and guest requirements.
  • Runner: Safely guides guests to their assigned tables while engaging in pleasant conversation about the establishment or local attractions.
  • Greeter: Provides an enthusiastic welcome to all guests and gathers necessary information to determine the best seating accommodations.
  • Cashier: Assists guests with orders for retail, food, and beverages to go, maintains accurate cash drawers, and follows all cash handling policies.

Level One

Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates:

  • Know your job: Complete training, understand property standards, actively listen during pre-shift, and apply your knowledge effectively.
  • Be on time: Follow attendance policies, arrive in uniform, and adhere to clock-in/out procedures.
  • Be on stage: Be friendly, approachable, well-groomed, and maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Serve: Conduct yourself professionally, embody the company’s service culture, "The Keys to Making it Right."
  • Work smart: Understand shift needs, utilize resources efficiently, and complete tasks promptly with attention to detail.
  • Use your tools: Employ approved tools and checklists for tasks.
  • Measure Up: Produce work meeting department standards in quality and volume, and achieve set goals.
  • Respect the space: Keep work areas clean and report deficiencies.
  • Be safe: Report unsafe conditions and violations per company policy.
  • Support the Team: Collaborate professionally to foster a positive work environment.
  • Additional duties include greeting guests, managing seating and wait times, providing menu information, performing sidework, organizing retail, communicating seating needs, and other assigned tasks.

    Qualifications
    • Skills: Strong communication, listening, problem-solving, multitasking, basic math, and ability to complete position-specific assessments.

    Experience: Previous restaurant or hotel industry experience is a plus.

    Education: Some High School required.
