Butterfly Staffing will be hiring an experienced LPSO to oversee marine species monitoring for an upcoming federal waterfront construction project. The LPSO will supervise a team of PSOs, conduct data collection, and ensure compliance with MMPA and project-specific environmental plans.
Responsibilities- Lead training and supervision of Protected Species Observers (PSOs).
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations.
- Monitor in-water activities and maintain detailed observation logs.
- Coordinate shutdown procedures during marine mammal sightings.
- Prior PSO or marine biologist experience on similar projects.
- Degree in biology, marine science, or related field preferred.
- Must complete NAVFAC-led PSO training prior to project start.
$80,000-$110,000 per year
