Do you thrive in environments where uptime is everything and network downtime is next to non‑existent? We’re looking for a sharp, detail‑oriented Network Administrator to support the U.S. Navy in keeping critical systems running smoothly, securely, and at peak performance.

Position

Description:

Network Administrator manages and maintains the critical U.S. Navy network infrastructure to ensure secure, reliable, and high‑performance connectivity across all systems and users.

Minimum/General

Experience:

5 years of experience in network administration

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field

Essential Skills/

Qualifications:

• Above average knowledge of network administration including installing, administering, and troubleshooting network hardware (e.g., hotel Wi‑Fi services)
• Above average knowledge of network monitoring and server management tools
• Above average knowledge of network security principles, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
• Above average experience maintaining compliance and providing guidance on security requirements
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail skills
• Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships
• Ability to collaborate and problem‑solve in a team environment

General

Physical Requirements needed to perform the essential functions of this job may vary based on the location of the assignment.

• Assignment Location - COMNAVSURFLANT (CNSL), Naval Base, Norfolk, VA;
  Consists of travel up to a 50‑mile radius.
• Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Typing, communicating, repetitive motions.
• Close visual acuity to prepare and analyze data, view computer monitors and read. May need to view presentation screens and other visual aids in a virtual setting.
• Inside environmental conditions with protection from outside elements.

Security:
Must have an active Secret security clearance to be considered;
Ability to maintain a DoD Clearance

DoD Clearance:

Consists of a review of up to but not limited to:

• Covers 10 year period and in some instances lifetime events
• OPM Security Investigations Index (SII)
• DOD Defense Central Investigations Index (DCII)
• National Agency Check (NAC) records

• Credit report check
• A check of local law enforcement agencies with jurisdiction over the areas where the applicant has lived, worked, or attended school

• Confirmation of all residences
• Verification of public record information

Tasks/activities include, but are not limited to:

• Configure and maintain security requirements on in‑house network equipment needed to comply with existing Authority to Operate (ATO)
• Provide guidance and push security policy updates to CNSL ships outfitted with hotel Wi‑Fi services
• Provide troubleshooting efforts on shipboard hotel Wi‑Fi services
• Perform maintenance checks on equipment in‑house and onboard CNSL ships

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual projected pay range for this position is $75,155 – $91,516 with consideration being given to various factors including but not limited to qualifications, experience, job responsibilities, and geographic location.
