U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work at our site in the Norfolk, VA area. The applicant will be responsible for the following:

Perform maintenance and repair work for movable bridges, including troubleshooting machinery and equipment such as industrial machinery, electrical systems, plumbing, generators, and occasionally janitorial or lawn maintenance tasks.

Assist installation, maintenance, and repair workers in tasks such as vehicle, machinery, and electrical/electronic equipment maintenance, parts replacement, and repair. Responsibilities include furnishing tools, painting, general labor, cleaning work areas, and holding materials or tools for other workers.

Provide preventive maintenance services for machinery and generators.

Complete daily and weekly inspection reports of equipment.

Be on call as needed.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or GED, with Microsoft Office training.
CPR and First Aid certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire).
Successful passing of a criminal background check and a pre-employment physical and medical history check.
Valid driver’s license.

Working Conditions

Heavy physical activity, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations requiring safety precautions and protective equipment.
Constant exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, biohazards, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.

Compensation

$22.00 per hour
