Pay Range: $20 - $40 per hour

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Telecommunication Technician who will be a key support to the installation of Telecommunication Structured Cabling Systems in Norfolk, Virginia.

• Install Telecommunication Structured Cabling Systems
• Qualified in termination of cabling, including CAT 5e, CAT 6, Fiber Optics, & Coaxial in accordance with EIA/TIA standards.
• Read and understand Telecom blueprints.
• Knowledge of proper grounding, safety standards, and NEC compliance.

• Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of technical experience.
• Must have technical experience with installation of Telecommunication Cabling Systems.
• Must have experience in some Telecom installation systems including, but not limited to:
  • Telecom Room Build‑Out (cabinets, ladder rack, etc)
  • Fiber Optic terminations (Unicam, Anarobic, & fusion splicing)
  • UTP/STP Category 6 copper terminations
  • Familiar with industry leading manufacturer installation and termination practices (BICSI, Comm Scope, Belden, CPI, Corning, Panduit, etc)
• Must be qualified on the use of all test equipment and the preparation of site test data and documentation.
• Must have experience performing maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and testing of telecom cabling (fiber, Category 6, multi‑pair copper).
• Must be a US Citizen with a current Passport and valid Driver's License.
• Must have the ability to work independently or under only limited supervision.

• BISCI Technician or Installer Certification, preferred.
• Manufacturer Installer Certifications (Comm Scope, Corning, Belden, etc), preferred.
• Prefer at least 2 years' experience with installation of Telecommunication Cabling Systems, preferred.

• Must have an Active DoD Top Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance.

• More than 95% Travel – International/domestic airline travel (coach only).
• Extended hotel stays.

• Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, & kneel up to 75% of the time.
• Repetitive motion, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, and visual acuity (depth perception).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
• Communicating with others to exchange information.
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
• Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat); inside or outside noise levels.
