AI Application Architect
Location: This role requires associates to be in-office 1 day per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity while supporting flexibility for productivity and work‑life balance. Ideal candidates will be able to report to one of our Pulse Point locations in Atlanta, GA, Hanover, MD, Mason, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Ashburn, VA, Norfolk, VA, or New York, NY. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Design AI‑centric application architectures and patterns that guide the integration of LLMs, ML models, and intelligent capabilities into enterprise applications.
- Build and evaluate POCs/POTs to validate architectural patterns, reference implementations, and new AI frameworks.
- Create linkage across architectural components, ensuring cohesive and scalable integration of AI workloads.
- Define and evolve standards that incorporate AI, event‑driven patterns, microservices, and enterprise integration approaches.
- Review emerging AI technologies for conformance to architecture guidelines and future‑state direction.
- Develop foundational AI patterns, RAG architectures, and reusable modules that engineering teams can adopt.
- Ensure efficient infrastructure utilization, particularly for compute‑heavy AI model workloads.
- Partner with engineering, data science, and cloud teams to evaluate end‑to‑end solution feasibility.
- Contribute to overall systems architecture vision and ensure specific components are appropriately designed and leveraged.
- Contribute to defining architecture standards and anticipate areas where architecture standards may need to be developed in line with customer, IT and industry standards.
- Verify efficient utilization of hardware and storage capacity.
- Develop linkage and relationship of architectural components.
- Identify service requirements, component capacities and loads for planned business growth.
- Review an application/technology for conformance to the current architecture and standards.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years of experience in architecture/design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences
- Hands‑on experience designing AI‑enabled architectures highly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience when needed to develop quick POCs highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of LLM and GenAI integration patterns, RAG frameworks, embeddings, vector search highly preferred.
- Familiarity with cloud‑native AI services (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex) highly preferred.
- Experience building reference implementations and reusable frameworks highly preferred.
- Understanding of ML Ops architecture—feature stores, pipelines, model management highly preferred.
- Experience with microservices, event‑driven systems, and domain‑driven design as they relate to AI integration highly preferred.
- Knowledge of responsible AI principles and how to embed them into architectural patterns highly preferred.
- Ability to evaluate, compare, and recommend AI frameworks and platforms highly preferred.
Salary range for this position is $117,936 to $202,176. Locations:
Hanover, MD;
New York, NY.
