Card Tech sits within the broader Technology organization at Capital One. We work alongside our Business Partners in Card to build Technology that enable their products and services to support Capital One’s customers and applications.

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full‑stack development tools and technologies.
• Work with a team of developers with deep experience in machine learning, distributed microservices, and full‑stack systems.
• Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, and Python, and open‑source RDBMS and No
  
  SQL databases like Redshift and Snowflake.
• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with new technologies, and mentoring other members of the engineering community.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver robust cloud‑based solutions that drive powerful experiences for millions of Americans.
• Perform unit tests and conduct code reviews to ensure code is rigorously designed, elegantly written, and finely tuned for performance.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 3 years of experience in application development (internship experience does not apply).
• At least 1 year of experience in big data technologies.

• 5+ years of experience in application development with Python.
• 2+ years of experience with a public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
• 3+ years experience with distributed data/computing tools such as Map Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, EMR, Kafka, Spark.
• 2+ years experience with real‑time data and streaming applications.
• 2+ years experience with No
  
  SQL implementations (Dynamo
  
  DB, Cassandra).
• 2+ years of data warehousing experience (Redshift or Snowflake).
• 3+ years of UNIX/Linux experience, including shell scripting.

Richmond, VA: $144,200 – $164,600 per year. Eligible for performance‑based incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
