Job Summary

This pool is created to help us meet instructional demands across all majors in the School of Communication.

The School of Communication (COM) serves over 950 undergraduate and nearly 100 graduate students, offering degrees in Communication Studies, Journalism, Mass Media, and Public Relations (CEPR accredited program), along with a top-rated master's degree in Communication. The School features research and graphics computer labs, a Communication Innovation Center, Social Media Analytics Command Center (SMACC), WZND FM 103.3 (student radio), a high-definition television station (TV-10) with daily live newscasts, and the National Public Radio affiliate WGLT FM 89.1. Active student co-curricular organizations include PRSSA, Lambda Pi Eta, a nationally ranked forensics program, Student Television Workshop, and others.

The Vidette, a renowned student-run news organization, is also based here. Illinois State enrolls over 20,000 students.

Salary

Starting at $4,900/month for non-terminal degrees and $5,200/month for terminal degrees, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salaries are prorated based on contracted FTE.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication or a related field
  • Demonstrated oral proficiency in English (required for teaching positions)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication or related field

Work Hours

Master’s degree in Communication or a closely related field.
