University College invites qualified individuals to apply for an IDS 128 – Thriving in College, Career and Beyond (Thrive) part-time, non-tenure-track teaching position.

IDS 128 is a three-credit-hour course that assists first-year students in developing and applying the skills needed to thrive in the Illinois State University community, their chosen careers, and beyond. This discussion-based course reinforces essential academic skills and introduces students to campus resources and college-level expectations. Through the guidance of an instructor, IDS 128 supports first-year students in their personal and professional development by exploring topics related to identity, goal setting, career exploration, and life skills.
The Thrive instructor works in collaboration with the Curriculum Services faculty and staff, as well as other staff members of University College and Illinois State University, including academic advisors and campus constituents to increase student persistence and success.
University College helps students successfully transition to Illinois State University, achieve their educational goals, and realize their academic potential in the first year and beyond.
