GA Teaching - Technology

The primary duties of a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) are to support instruction and student learning. Responsibilities may include, but is not limited to, the following:

• Serve as a primary or secondary instructor for a course or laboratory.
• Assist faculty with teaching-related activities and instructional responsibilities.
• Grade assignments, examinations, and other coursework requiring knowledge of the subject matter taught in a course or laboratory.
• Meet with and tutor students, hold office hours, prepare instructional materials, and provide instructional support during classes and laboratory sessions.

• Grading and evaluating student work.
• Providing individual or small-group tutoring and academic support.
• Leading problem-solving, review, or discussion sessions.
• Delivering lectures or otherwise serving as an instructor for a course.

$1510 for .50 FTE

• Must be a degree seeking graduate student at Illinois State University in the Technology Program.
• For teaching assistant positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
